Use the nice journal you’re saving for ‘someday’.

If you're someone who is saving a nice journal (or two, or three) for ‘someday’ when you have a nice enough thing to use it for, this is your gentle encouragement to get out the nice journal, and use it. Not someday, (hint: someday is not a real day) but today.

Use the nice journal.

Today is a nice enough day for the nice journal. Your life right now is nice enough for the nice journal.

Use the nice journal.

Put your life in the pages, make it yours, mess it up, write your thoughts, draw your feelings. Fill the pages with things that feel meaningful, with things that feel frivolous, with things that feel good.

Play in it, try new things in it - new ways of making images or new thoughts or beliefs, be sad in it, feel angry in it, write your dreams in it, tip your disappointments into it so they take up less space in your head.

Use the nice journal.

Because I’ll tell you a secret - if you use the nice journal, and you fill the pages with honesty - how you really feel, what you really want, lines and colours that feel good to you, emotions that feel true to you - by the time you’ve used up the nice journal, there’s a high chance you’ll have fallen a little bit in love with it. It’ll feel meaningful, it’ll feel like YOURS.

You’ll have found that your life IS nice enough for the nice journal, right now, just as it is.

AND if you’d like some clues on how to begin, bring your nice journal to my upcoming workshop series Art Journal Joy and join me for some creative self care. We begin on July 18. Click here to find out more and sign up!
